Five Men With Sub-1:43 PBs Will Vie for the Top Spot in 118th Millrose Games Men's 800m

Preparations are almost complete for the 118th Millrose Games, which is now less than two weeks away. The Burgess Family Foundation Men’s 800m is sure to be one of the most competitive races of the day, with no clear favorite among the six men entered in the field, all of whom are among the best in the world over the four-lap distance.

The 118th Millrose Games will take place at the Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory on Sunday, February 1st.

The field is as follows:

Donavan Brazier is the 2019 World Champion in the 800m and the former American record holder. Brazier emphatically returned to form in 2025, winning the US title after coming back from a series of injuries.

Bryce Hoppel is the current American record holder, running 1:41.67 to place fourth at the Paris Olympics. He is the 2024 World Indoor Champion, and a seven-time US champion.

Cian McPhillips is the Irish record holder, and the fourth place finisher at last year’s World Championships. He returns to Millrose after winning the junior mile in 2020.

Mohamed Attaoui is the Spanish record holder, as well as an Olympic and World Championship finalist.

Ben Pattison is an Olympian and the 2023 World Championships bronze medalist for Great Britain.

Colin Sahlman is a rising star at Northern Arizona University. As a high schooler, he became the third-fastest miler in history with his 3:56.24 performance.

The 118th Millrose Games is a World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold meet. Other athletes announced include Grant Fisher, Cole Hocker, Elle St. Pierre, Jess Hull, Nikki Hiltz, Joe Kovacs, Yared Nuguse, Hobbs Kessler, Cameron Myers, Devynne Charlton, Danielle Williams, Doris Lemngole, Jane Hedengren, Josette Andrews, Cooper Lutkenhaus, Tsige Duguma, Sage Hurta-Klecker, Addy Wiley, Cordell Tinch, Jordan Anthony, and Katerina Stefanidi.
