Champion Heptathlete Nafissatou Thiam Skipping World Indoors for Outdoor Campaign

First Post reports Belgian heptathlete Nafissatou Thiam will skip competing in the pentathlon at the IAAF World Indoor Championships next week and focus instead on the European Outdoor Championships.

Thiam has competed twice this indoor season, competing in the high jump and long jump in Gent, Belgium, and competing in the 60-meter hurdles and shot put in Eaubonne, France.

The past two years have been good to Thiam. She won Olympic gold in 2016 and followed that up with World Championship gold in 2017, both in the heptathlon. She also became the third-highest scorer in the heptathlon last year, scoring 7,013 points.
